The guys over at Valve have had yet another idea what they could add to Steam. It turns out that you can now also access a large music library next to all the games that can be bought.

Although still in Beta version, Steam Music Player is available as of today. Already at this stage it is compatible to the three most widely spread operating systems Windows MacOS and GNU/Linux.

Apart from accessing and managing your existing music library you can also buy new titles and albums via Steam now. Based on the music you're already listening too there are suggestions being made what you could possible like to buy.

Until 1st of October Valve is offering up to 75 percent discount on certain tracks and albums. Should you have any suggestions, then Valve is one of the companies that actually tries to listen to their customers, which means you can post your feedback in this thread.
