Thanks to the new RealSense technology, Intel is aiming to integrate a 3D sensor in future tablets. The technology is ready, and the company would like to see integrated in the first tablets as soon as possibile.
During MakerCon, an exhibition where you often find many new technologies, such as the one showcased by Intel’CEO, Brian Krzanich, who presented the new “RealSense” 3D Scanner. This technology can be featured on the most recent tablets.
During the demonstration, Krzanich took a random person from the audience, and he scanned it for a few seconds, until his 3D model appare on the big screen. Once you have the 3D model, you’re able to manage it via software, to animate it, move it, modify it, or even print it out.
The idea is really interesting, and based on what Brian Krzanich, the first tablets featuring this sensor should be ready by Q3 or Q4 2015. The users will be able to save 3D models of anything they want, in a very simple way.
