Intel has updates the graphics driver for its 4th generation Core Haswell CPUs which promises plenty of fixes, up to 10 percent performance improvement in games and up to 30 percent improvement in OpenCL applications.
In addition to aforementioned graphics performance improvements, Intel's new graphics driver for 4th generation Intel Core Haswell CPUs with Intel HD, Iris and Iris Pro integrated graphics, the new driver also brings battery life improvements with newer power conservation techniques such as CMAA and Adaptive Rendering Control.
As noted, the new driver improves performance in certain OpenCL workloads by 30 percent as well as bring performance improvements in games like Batman: Arkham City, F1 2012, Hitman: Absolution, League of Legends, Battlefield 4, Metro 2033, Skyrim: The Elder Scrolls and more.
The new driver has also fixed some issues with previous drivers including a fix for Netflix application using Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 on an Intel NUC.
The new driver will mostly benefit users with notebooks, or tablets like the Surface Pro 3, which are limited to the Intel integrated graphics.
