BIOSTAR unveils the J1800HN2 motherboard

Intel SoC on a mini ITX board

The Biostar portfolio, thanks to the J1900HN2, already features a little mini-ITX motherboard, but it clearly wasn't enough, since the taiwanese manufacturer unveiled yet another mini-ITX board, the new J1800HN2.

Biostar is not a newbie when it comes to mini-ITX motherboards with pre-installed Intel SoC, since you can find that kind of board on their portfolio for quite a while now: they are selling an ITX motherboard with a J1900 quad-core 22nm chip.

This time we are looking at a J1800 dual-core chip, soldered to a small 17x17cm motherboard. The base clock is set at 2.41GHz, and it goes up to 2.58GHz with Turbo. Furthermore, there's 1MB of L2 cache, and an HD Graphics iGPU set at 688/792MHz. The board can also fit up to 2 DDR3L-1333 memory modules with 16GB of total memory.

As far as connections are concerned, there are two SATA II and a PCIe 2.0 x1 on the PCB, and two PS/2 ports, VGA and HDMI outputs, a USB 3.0 port, four USB 2.0 ports and three audio jack on the back I/O panel. Unfortunately, Biostar didn't release any information about the price, nor the release date.
