Almost seven years since they tried to launch a US $199 price Eee PC based on Linux platform, ASUS has revived the Eee PC with the new EeeBook X205 which it showcased at IFA 2014 show.


Based on an 11.6-inch 1366x768 screen and running Windows 8.1 OS, the EeeBook X205 weighs 980g and features Intel's Atom Z3735 1.33GHz clocked quad-core BayTrail-T CPU paired up with 2GB of RAM. It will feature an "almost full-sized" keyboard, large trackpad and be available in black, white, gold or red color.

The rest of the specs include 32 or 64GB of internal flash storage accompanied by 15GB from Microsoft OneDrive and two year 100GB OneDrive and 500GB of ASUS WebStorage. It also comes with VGA front cam, microSDXC card slot, micro-HDMI output, and a 38Whr battery that should keep it alive for around 12 hours of web browsing.




ASUS was not keen on talking much about the release date of this US $199 price EeeBook X205 but did note that we should see it in late Q3 or early Q4 this year.
