ASUS X99-Deluxe motherboard officially launched

Just a notch below the ROG Rampage V Extreme

Following Intel's official launch of the Haswell-E HEDT platform, ASUS has prepared quite a few X99 Express chipset based motherboards, including the Republic of Gamers Rampage V Extreme, X99-A, X99-Pro as well as the high-end X99-Deluxe motherboard which we had a chance to host in our test lab.

While the ASUS Rampage V Extreme will defend the red on black colors of ASUS' Republic of Gamers brand, the more consumer oriented ASUS X99-Deluxe takes a complete detour from ASUS' previous color schemes as this time around ASUS has decided to go for a rather neat looking black and white color scheme.

The specifications did not suffer either as this is a true flagship high-end consumer oriented X99 Express chipset based motherboard. It features support for Intel's new LGA2011-3 socket Core i7 5000 series Haswell-E CPUs, has eight DIMM memory slots with support for up to 64GB of DDR4 3200MHz memory, has five PCI-Express slots which work in single at x16, dual at x16/x16, triple at x16/x16/x8, quad at x8/x8/x16/x8 or quintuple at x8/x8/x8/x8/x8 on a 40-lane CPU or single at x16, dual at x16/x8 or triple at x8/x8/x8 mode on a 28-lane CPU.

The rest of the specifications and features include a single PCI-Express 2.0 x4 slot, two SATA Express ports, eight SATA 6Gbps ports, single M.2 Socket 3 with m.Key slot, dual Intel Gigabit Ethernet, integrated 802.11ac WiFi with ASus Wi-Fi GO!, a total of fourteen USB 3.0 and six USB 2.0 ports. It also comes with some ASUS exclusive features including OC Socket, 5-Way Optimization by Dual Intelligent Processors 5, 5X Protection, UEFI BIOS, Turbo App, Turbo LAN and Crystal Sound 2 and comes bundled with both ASUS Fan Extension card and ASUS Hyper M.2 X4 daughter card.

As noted, we already had a pleasure to have the ASUS X99-Deluxe in our test lab and now, when the official Intel NDA has been lifted, you can check out our review of it. Priced at €339, the ASUS X99-Deluxe does not come cheap but it definitely packs enough features to justify its price.
