Microsoft's Chromebook response is HP Stream 14

US $199 notebook with 100GB of OneDrive cloud storage

Microsoft's response to Google's Chromebook push has now leaked online and will be called the HP Stream 14. This US $199 notebook will be a Windows 8.1 OS running system with AMD APU and even include 100GB of OneDrive cloud storage for two years.

Spotted by Mobile Geeks, the HP Stream 14 will feature a 14-inch 1366x768 screen, feature AMD's A4 Micro-6400T quad-core APU working at 1.0GHz with 1.6GHz Turbo with Radeon R3 graphics. The rest of the specifications include 2GB of RAM memory, 32 or 64GB of internal storage expandable via SDXC card slot as well as Beats Audio speakers, 802.11bgn WiFi, Bluetooth, 720p webcam, one USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports, HDMI out and HP's Multitouch-Trackpad and Dura Coat keyboard.




This 1.75kg HP Stream 14 notebook will also feature a 2960mAh battery and will be available in silver, green and pink color options. In order to keep up with Chromebooks, Microsoft and HP will also throw in a two-year free 100GB of Microsoft's OneDrive cloud storage.

According to Mobile Geeks, Microsoft and HP are also working on a better and more expensive version of the HP Stream which will feature AMD's A10 Micro-6700T quad-core APU, 64GB of internal storage and FullHD touchscreen.

While it should be priced at US $199 in the US, Europe should probably see it at somewhere around €220 or so, depending on the region and VAT.
