EVGA shows its X99-based motherboard lineup

Classified, FTW and Micro

A few weeks before Intel's official launch of the new Haswell-E HEDT platform, EVGA has showed its lineup of Intel X99 Express chipset based motherboards which will be compatible with the new Haswell-E CPU. In addition to the Classified and the FTW models, EVGA has finally decided to add a micro-ATX model to the lineup.

The EVGA X99 Classified is the flagship model with a black color scheme and a huge heatsink placed on the PCH. Like the X79 model, you can find a right angled 24-pin power connector and ten SATA ports. Expansion slots include five PCI-e 3.0 x16 slots and a single PCI-e 3.0 x4 slot, but we do not see an mSATA or the M.2 slot. In addition to the lack of mSATA or the M.2 slot the X99 Classified motherboard surprisingly also features the standard audio chip. The EVGA X99 Classified also supports 4-Way SLI and CrossFire Multi-GPU functionality. The rear panel features six USB 2.0, four USB 3.0, a clear CMOS header, two Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports and a 7.1 Channel audio jack.

The EVGA X99 FTW motherboard features a black and red color scheme with ten SATA ports, five PCI-e 3.0 x16 slots and a single PCI-e 3.0 x4 slot. Unlike the X99 Classified, this model features two mSATA ports and a Creative Core 3D audio chip. On the rear panel there are six USB 2.0, four USB 3.0, a CMOS clear header, two Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports and a 7.1 Channel audio jack.

The EVGA X99 Micro is the mATX model based on the Intel X99 chipset. Like the other two models, it features the same power design with 10-phase VRM. Unlike the other two motherboards, this one only supports up to 64GB of DDR4 memory since it only has two DDR4 DIMM memory slots. The I/O panel include six USB 2.0 and four USB 3.0 ports, a single Gigabit Ethernet LAN port and a 7.1 channel audio panel.

According to reports from CowCotland, the price of the Classified should be around 400 USD, the X99 FTW should sell for 280 USD and the mATX version should be priced at 250 USD.
