Scythe unveiled a brand new CPU cooler, name Kodati. Following the recent trends about SFF systems and mini ITX gaming rigs, Scythe is offering a small CPU cooler, which is supporting the latest AMD and Intel platforms, and it's featuring the new E.I.S mounting system, that allows a fast installation without using a backplate.
The new Kodati CPU cooler is really small, it only measures 82,5 x 95 x 34 mm, and it weighs 180g. Thanks to its particular design, you can fit the 34mm thick fan between the baseplate and the heatsink, so this cooler can fit in almost any kind of Pc case, even the smallest.
It features a copper baseplate with two 6mm copper heatpipes and a lot of aluminum fins. Both heatpipes and the baseplater are nickel plated. Inside the box, you'll find a Slip Stream 80 PWM fan, which is actually pre-installed on the heatsink. This fan, thanks to its PWM connector, can be controlled by the motherboard, and it operates between 800 and 3.300 RPM. Noise levels are pretty good, between 8.2 and 32.5 dBA. It should be enough to handle 65W TDP's CPUs, but Scythe says that if you're using it in a well ventilated case, it can handle CPU with 88W TDPs.
The new Scythe Kodati CPU cooler supports a great number of AMD and Intel sockets: LGA775, LGA1150, LGA1155, LGA1156 and LGA1366 as well as AMD sockets AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, FM1, FM2 and FM2+.
The new Scythe Kodati is available as today, with a suggested retail price of 18 €.
