Nvidia has now officially announced its newest entry-level graphics card, the Geforce GT 720. Based on the 28nm GK208 GPU, the Geforce GT 720 should end up faster than some APUs and integrated graphics solution but do not expect any miracles in terms of performance.
As noted, the Geforce GT 720 is based on a well known Nvidia 28nm GK208 Kepler GPU which packs 192 CUDA cores, 64-bit memory interface and 1GB of DDR3 memory. The GPU will usually end up with a 797MHz clock while memory will work at 1600MHz.
Most Nvidia AIB partners will focus on single slot, half height, passively cooled versions of the GT 720 and we are quite sure that couple of partners will pair it up with more or different memory configurations.
As expected, the Geforce GT 720 will fit in the sub-$50 market.
