ASUS announces Crossblade Ranger FM2+ motherboard

ROG meets FM2+

ASUS announced their latest addition to the ROG series motherboards and this time it features an FM2+ socket that allows for the installation of AMD APUs such as for example the A10-7850K as well as quite a few others.

Taking a closer look at the board reveals it features the same heatsinks on VRM as well as PCH like you get with the latest Maximus VII series motherboard. Therefore the design is simply gorgeous and kept entirely in black and red. If we start looking for features we find four DIMM slots, two PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots (single x16 or dual x8/x8 configuration), one full-size PCI Express 2.0 slot (x4 mode), two PCI Express 2.0 x1 slots as well as two legacy PCI slots. Apart from that there are eight SATA 6Gbps ports, Intel Gigabit Ethernet supporting ASUS GameFirst III, ROG SupremeFX Formula 2014 audio with high quality ELNA capacitors and on top of all this there are six USB 3.0 (four on back panel) as well as eight USB 2.0 ports (two on back panel).

Since the Crossblade Ranger is a board targeting gamers mainly, there are also some other neat features, quite a few customers might like. There is for example KeyBot, that allows you to program macros to any connected keyboard.

If we start looking for prices we find this board listed in Europe with price tags starting at 130 Euro. For a socket FM2+ motherboard this not cheap, but considering the features you get with this board pricing is just about ok.
