Colorful has now officially launched its new flagship motherboard based on Intel's Z97 Express chipset which was developed in cooperation with Chaintech, the iGame Z97 Ymir-X.
Showcased during Computex 2014 back in June, the Colorful iGame Z97 Ymix-X is based on a standard ATX form factor and draws power for its 16-phase CPU VRM via 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS power connectors. It also features four DDR3 DIMM memory slots, three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots ( x8/x4/x4 or x8,x8 ) and four PCI-Express 2.0 x1 slots. As far as the storage is concerned, the iGame Z97 Ymir-X features eight SATA 6Gbps and an mSATA 6Gbps (which doubles up as mPCIe slot) ports and it also features six USB 3.0 ports, bunch of USB 2.0 ports, DVI, D-Sub, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs.
Since this is a flagship motherboard it also comes with some overclocking friendly features like on-board base-clock switches, auto-OC buttons, PCIe slot power gating, UEFI BIOS, and manually selectable dual-BIOS. The new iGame Z97 Ymir-X motherboard also features 7.1-channel "Voice Game" HD audio with audio-grade capacitors, headphones amp and ground-layer isolation as well as Killer E2200 gigabit Ethernet.
Unfortunately, Colorful did not reveal any details regarding the price but did not that the motherboard is planed for the Asia-Pacific and Europe markets.
