Apple has now officially refreshed its Retina MacBook Pro lineup adding new CPUs as well as more RAM in based 13-inch and 15-inch models.


Earlier this month, Intel has updated its mobile Haswell CPU lineup with a 200MHz clock speed bump which are exactly the SKUs that found their way into new and refreshed Apple MacBook Pro Retina notebooks. In addition to the CPU clock speed bump, Apple has also raised the memory amount on base 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro lineup.




The 13-inch MacBook Pro Retina lineup will now start with a dual-core Core i5 CPU clocked at 2.6GHz base and 3.1GHz Turbo clocks and feature 8GB of 1600MHz memory, which is double the amount of memory compared to the previously available 13-inch MacBook Pro Retina. The 13-inch MacBook Pro Retina will now be configurable with up to dual-core Core i7 CPU clocked at 3.0GHz base and 3.5GHz Turbo Boost clocks.

The 15-inch MacBook Pro Retina lineup has been also refreshed and now starts with a quad-core Core i7 2.2GHz base clock and 3.4GHz Turbo Boost clock CPU and with 16GB of 1600MHz memory as well as Intel Iris Pro integrated graphics. The top of the line 15-inch MacBook Pro will now come with Intel's quad-core Core i7-4980HQ CPU with a base clock of 2.8GHz and 4.0GHz Turbo Boost.




As far as the price goes, the base 13-inch MacBook Pro Retina model with the aforementioned Intel dual-core Core i5 CPU, 8GB of memory and 128GB of flash storage is listed at US $1,299. The 15-inch MacBook Pro Retina with a 2.2GHz clock quad-core Intel Core i7 CPU, Intel Iris Pro IGP, 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage sells for US $1,999. The cheapest 15-inch MacBook Pro Retina model with Nvidia GT 750M GPU with 2GB of GDDR5 memory starts at US $2,499 and features a 2.5GHz clocked quad-core Core i7 CPU, 16GB of memory and 512GB of flash storage.
