Xbox One August update to bring new features

3D Blu-ray support and more

We now have some of the details regarding the upcoming August update for the Xbox One, which will include support for 3D Blu-ray, various updates for the Activity Feed and Friend section as well as an ability to automatically download new games and apps.

According to details, the biggest update for the Xbox One with the August update will definitely be the 3D Blu-ray support which will allow 3D TV users to watch their favorite 3D movies over the Xbox One console. The next update will include a couple of bug fixes and tweaks for the Xbox One Dashboard as well as updates for the Activity Feed and Friends section. The console will also have an ability to automatically download new games and apps purchased from Xbox.com.

According to the report, Xbox One controllers will also get more than just a battery indicator and be able to warn user when the battery is close to being empty via notification on the screen as well as subtle vibration for the Xbox One home button.

There is no word when the actual update will be released in August, most likely middle to end of August, but those that are on the early access list should get the update pretty soon.
