According to the report from IGN, Bungie has confirmed that Destiny will be indeed running at 1080p resolution on Xbox One, but just not during beta testing.
There has been a lot of talk, and justified anger from Xbox One users, regarding Bungie's decision to run its upcoming Destiny title at lower resolution on the Xbox One. Thankfully and hopefully, according to the latest report, coming from Bungie's Community Manager, David Dague, the game will run at 1080p on Xbox One, just as it does on the PS4, but just not during its beta testing phase.
The decision to run at 1080p at launch in September most likely comes as a result of Microsoft's recent new Xbox One SDK, which freed some of the processing power on the Xbox One which was previously reserved for the Kinect.
The Playstation beta of the Destiny should start soon while Xbox users will have to wait until the next week. Bungie's Destiny is scheduled to be released on Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360 and the Xbox One in September.
