Intel Pentium G3258 hits 6861.7MHz

New record on MSI Z97 MPower MAX AC

Intel's Pentium G3258 20th Anniversary Edition, which has been nicknamed as the Pentium K by most enthusiasts has now reached a new record of 6861.7MHz on MSI's Z97 MPower MAX AC motherboard.

The new record comes from TeamChina_DFORDOG and Hero which managed to push the Pentium G3258 from its original 3.2GHz up to 6861.7MHz. The score was done on a single core and at 1.992V showing that the Pentium G3258 is indeed an overclocking CPU. As noted, the CPU was overclocked on MSI's Z97 MPower MAX AC motherboard and with 4GB of G.Skill DDR3 memory.

MSI was also keen to note that it has optimized BIOS adjustments for three motherboards, including the 97 GUARD-PRO, Z97-G43 and the Z97 PC Mate, which all include six-phase power control components and can automatically overclock the Pentium 20th Anniversary Edition G3258 processor from 3.2GHz up to 4.3GHz via MSI OC Genie 4.

In any case, this really sounds like a neat overclocking record and we are sure we will see the G3258 pushed even further.
