It appears that LG will not be making the new Nexus smartphone for Google as according to LG's Communications Director, Ken Hong, Google did not get in touch with the LG regarding the new Nexus deal.
According to Ken Hong, this will not hurt the LG much as earning money on such a deal is quite hard and makes the company too dependent on Google, so Google's possible decision to go with another company for Nexus smartphone is just fine with LG.
There have been a lot of rumors floating around regarding Google's Nexus program which might have been replaced with Android Silver, which is practically a way for Google to sell stock Android versions of all the latest flagship smartphones on a much bigger scale.
Nexus smartphones have always been a good bang-for-buck as they packed a decent hardware for a fraction of the price that some other manufacturer would as for similar smartphones.
In any case, Google's I/O conference is just around the corner so we are sure we will hear more about Nexus line soon.
