20% more than Ivy Bridge-E
The upcoming Intel HEDT Haswell-E platform should be ready in September, along with the new X99 chipset and DDR4 memories. Thanks to the chinese version of VR-Zone.com, we have the first informations about what might be the pricing for those chips.
As far as we know, the Intel HEDT Haswell-E will feature 3 different models, the flagship Intel Core i7 5960X, the Core i7 5930K and the Core i7 5820K. While the first two should maintain the same price as their predecessor, the Core i7 5820K should end up being 20% more expensive that its counterpart.
There might be 2 reason for this decision: first of all, Intel might want to empty stock of Ivy Bridge-E CPUs and second, the 5820K is actually a hexa-core CPU, while its predecessor it's was a quad-core part.
We are really excited to see what this new platform can achieve, thanks to the brand new chipset and DDR4 memories, and we just have to wait a couple of months.
