Devil Canyon overclocking on other motherboards

Not exclusive to the Z97 chipset

Since the birth of Ivy Bridge up to the present, we have learned that in order to make some substantial overclock on Intel's CPUs you need to use Intel Z Series motherboards.
On the MSI Italy facebook page there are few interesting screenshots about overclocking on Intel' Devil Canyon without Intel Zxx chipset. At the moment we do not know if overclocking has been done on the Turbo multipliers (as was the case with the on H77) or if the overclocking was done directly with the base frequency. The MSI team has been overclocking Intel's Core i7-4790K CPU with the MSI-B85 G43 Gaming motherboard as well as the Pentium G3420 with the MSI H97-G PRO motherboard.
