AMD R9 and R7 to launch on October 8th

Radeon R9 290X flagship on October 15th

According to a report from Videocardz, that obviously did not sign any NDAs, AMD plans to release its three sub-US$300 graphics cards, the Radeon R9 280X, R9 270X and the R7 260X on the 8th of October, or in about six days, while its flagship Radeon R9 290X will wait for the Battlefield 4 and launch on October 15th.

According to the same report, AMD's add-in-board (AIB) partners will have a green light to do custom/non-reference designs on all three sub-$300 graphics cards, the Radeon R9 280X, R9 270X and the R7 260X while most of the R9 290X are expected to be based on the reference design from AMD.

The report suggest that reviews for the R9 280X and the rest of the lineup will go live on October 8th while the rest will wait up for the R9 290X and October 15th (October 14th in the US).

It is certainly a great win for AMD and we are quite sure they will try to make the most out of it, while we still expect an official response from Nvidia that does not include a fully assembled gaming system that cost an arm and a leg.
