Gigabyte's G1.Assassin 3 X79 spotted at IDF 2013

Designed for Intel Ivy Bridge-E

VR-Zone managed to spot a rather interesting motherboard at Gigabyte's IDF 2013 showcase, the G1.Assassin 3 motherboard designed to pull the last ounce of performance from latest Intel Ivy Bridge-E socket LGA 2011 CPUs.

Being the successor of the G1.Assassin 2 designed for Sandy Bridge-E CPUs, the new G1.Assassin is also based on the Intel X79 Express chipset, features 10-phase VRM with All IR digital power design, solid state capacitors and uses 8+4-pin connectors for additional power. It packs eight DDR3 memory slot, ten SATA 6Gbps ports and four PCI-Express x16 3.0 ports for some quad-GPU fun with either Nvidia SLI or AMD CrossfireX.

Gigabyte decided not to change the quite cool looking green and black color scheme and while most of the other specs were retained from an earlier G1.Assassin, Gigabyte did update the onboard audio with the Creative Sound Core3D that features headphone amplifier, Audio Noise Guard and replaceable OP-AMPs. The rest of the features include Bluetooth 4.0 and 801.11ac WiFi add-in card, Ultra Durable 5 tech including UEFI Dual BIOS, dual Gigabit Ethernt ports, debug LED and some other onboard quick buttons that you would expect to find on a high-end motherboard.

Unfortunately, Gigabyte did not talk about the release date or the actual price of the new G1.Assassin 3 motherboard.
