Asus releases new MeMO Pad HD 7 tablet

US $150 7-inch tablet

Asus has released a new 7-inch budget-friendly tablet, the Asus MeMO Pad HD 7. Built around a 7-inch 1280x800 IPS screen and powered by Mediatek's MT8125 quad-core CPU, the new Asus MeMO Pad HD 7 will definitely make an impact on the market.

The new Asus MeMO Pad measures at 19.6x11.9x1cm and weighs 300g. As noted earlier, the main features and selling points are the 7-inch 1280x800 IPS screen as well as Mediatek's quad-core 1.2GHz clocked MT8125 processor paired up with 1GB of RAM. It also comes with 5-megapixel rear camera, 1.2-megapixel front one, 802.11bgn WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, dual stereo speakers with Sonicmaster Technology and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS.

According to Asus, it has a 15Wh Li-polymer battery enough to keep it running for around 10 hours. It also features 16GB of internal storage and comes with one year 16GB of Asus Webstorage. The Asus MeMO Pad HD 7 is pretty much an upgraded version of the first-generation Nexus 7 and as the second-generation Nexus 7 will hit the market with US $229 price tag, Asus will certainly grab a decent amount of market share with cheaper MeMO Pad HD 7.

The Asus MeMO Pad HD 7 is currently selling in the US for US $149.99 while Europe has it listed at €149.99 in various regions.
