New AMD Zen roadmaps leak online

Both CPUs and APUs coming next year

A set of new AMD Zen roadmaps have leaked online showing that the official release date for both CPUs and APUs based on Zen CPU architecture will be coming next year.

Both the new APUs and CPUs will share the same AM4 platform and it appears that AMD's lineup will include both octa-core Zen-based CPUs as well as quad-core Excavator-based APUs, with Bristol Ridge AM4 APUs coming in late 2016, alongside AM4-based motherboards.

The AMD Zen-based CPUs will have a TDP ranging from 65W to 95W showing just how more efficient is the Zen CPU architecture compared to the Piledriver one, which had a TDP ranging from 95W to 220W.

On the mobile side, the new roadmaps show more details regarding AMD's Raven Ridge APUs, based on quad-core Zen CPU and featuring up to 12 GCN GPU cores. The GPU part will probably be based on the new Polaris GPU architecture and the entire package will have a TDP of up to 65W.

There will probably be some Zen-based chips in late 2016 but the majority and wider release is expected in 2017.
