Although we already had a chance to see a couple of FM2+ motherboards, announced by Asus last week, the Kaveri FM2+ APUs will not hit retail/e-tail before next year while its successor, codename Carizzo, will arrive in 2015, according to VR-Zone.
According to previously leaked info, Carizzo APUs should bring support for DDR4 memory and TDPs as low as 65W. Unfortunately, it is still not clear if AMD plans to introduce support for PCI-Express 4.0 or the new SATA Express that is already scheduled to show up on Intel platform by the end of next year and early in 2015. According to details, Carizzo is expected to be based on AMD's new Excavator CPU architecture while the exact GPU architecture is still unknown as AMD might either go for upcoming Volcanic Islands or even the Pirate Islands based architectures.
On a similar note, it appears that AMD FM2+ will support the entire APU lineup up until the release of the Carizzo in 2015. It does not come as a surprise considering that AMD was far better when it comes to socket lifetime when compared to Intel.
