After the video teaser that pointed out to August 7th as the launch date for MSI's upcoming GTX 780 Lightning graphics card, MSI also release a picture teaser at its Facebook site showing Jon "Elmor" Sandström in an overclocking session with that same graphics card.

Although not much was revealed by the picture considering that everything was naturally cooled by LN2 and the picture was showing the back of the card, one thing certainly caught our attention.

If you remember the previous MSI Lightning Edition graphics cards you'll know that MSI went with a taller PCB in order to accommodate the beefier VRM while leaving the SLI part of the PCB lower which was a minor nuisance for some users. Judging from the picture posted at Facebook it now appears that the upcoming GTX 780 Lightning will still have a taller PCB but this time around it will be the entire PCB and SLI connectors will no longer be placed lower.

While the upcoming GTX 780 Lightning graphics card will most likely get the Twin Frozr IV cooler seen on the GTX 780 Gaming edition, MSI might still surprise us with a different variation or even something new. The GTX 780 Lightning will certainly be the cream of the crop when it comes to MSI offer and will feature high-factory overclock, overclock-friendly features, dual BIOS and probably even more.

In any case we will know for sure on August 7th and in the meantime we will try to dig out more info.
