AMD's new A-Series "Richland" APU's are perfect for HTPC's builds, but when you plan to build a system in a very small case, then the TDP can become an issue. The rate 65 Watts to 100 Watts can be hard to remove with a small cooler, while keeping the noise level low. These days AMD seems to be adressing this issue and the are working on low-power APU's, which are about to feature 45 Watts TDP.

]When it comes to product names we're talking about the A10-6700T and the A8-6500T. The A10-6700T will be the faster out of the two and the CPU part clocks at 2.50 GHz, whereas the turbo clock is yet unknown. On the other hand it looks like the integrated GPU will take care of it's job at 720 MHz but in this case the stream processor count remains to be released/announced/leaked. Additionally there is no information on the core count of this CPU. At least when looking at another APU, namely the A10-6700 (non-K) we see that this is a quad-core part, which means that is very likely, that the A10-6700T will also be a quad-core piece of silicon. Last but not least there are also some specs on the A8-6500T. This time the CPU part should clock at 2.10 GHz and the integrated GPU runs again at 720 MHz. Unknown in this case are core count and stream processor count.
