HTC One Nexus coming on June 26th

Priced at US $599

During the D11 conference Android's SVP officially announced that the HTC One Nexus should be ready on June 26th and available at Google's Play store for US $599.

In case you missed it earlier, there has been some rumors that HTC One will also get the same treatment as the Samsung Galaxy S4 or simply run stock Android 4.2.2 without any other custom skins. According to latest info, the HTC One Nexus as it is called for now, will have 32GB of internal storage and will only be available in the US for now. The new HTC One Nexus will also have an unlocked bootloader and get its updates directly from Google.

The US $599 price tag makes it US $50 cheaper than the Google Edition of the Samsung Galaxy S4 which is pretty much in line with what was already going on in retail/e-tail if you compare these two models.

It looks like that stock Android is getting more attention than custom skins and it is certainly nice to own a smartphone that gets its updates directly from Google.
