Heise.de had a chance to spend some time with industry veteran, a key person behind Nvidia's The Way It's Meant To Be Played program and now AMD's Vice President of global channel sales, Roy Taylor, and get some answers regarding the future of the GPU technology.
According to Roy Taylor, his company does not belive that there will be a DirectX 12, at lease not in any near future. AMD on the other will focus at integrating other technologies with its next-generation GPUs. AMD will also continue to focus on its Never Settle bundle program and we are quite sure that Mr. Taylor is one to "blame" for it. He called the Never Settle program a strategically important thing for AMD that will continue to include top titles, including the recently rumored Battlefield 4.
Roy Taylor also shed some light on future of TressFX, used in latest Tomb Raider title, saying that currently it is only hair but there are many thing that AMD can do with it and it sounds like it has a bright future.
Since there will be no DirectX 12, at least as far as the AMD is concerned, it will certainly be interesting to see what AMD plans for future and what exactly are those "other technologies" that AMD plans for its next-gen GPUs.
