Helix Thinkpad ab Aprli verfübar

Although it was announced and unveiled back in January, Lenovo has now revealed on its Twitter account that the Thinkpad Helix Ultrabook/Tablet hybrid will finally go on sale in the USA as of next month with a starting price of US $1,499. Hopefully, Europe will also get it in April as some SKUs are already listed with a lowest price set at €1580,90.

In case you missed it back in January, Lenovo's Thinkpad Helix is an 11.6-inch Ultrabook/Tablet hybrid that can be used, obviously as either an Ultrabook or tablet but also has an ability to have its screen flipped by 180 degrees essentially transforming it into a slate/tablet like device.

The specifications list includes 11.6-inch 1920x1080 IPS touchscreen, up to Intel Core i7 CPU, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory and up to 256GB of SSD storage space. The rest of the specifications include a 5-megapixel rear and 2-megapixl front cameras, NFC, LTE and WiFi for connectivity, mini DisplayPort and mini HDMI outputs and a few USB ports. According to Lenovo, the battery should last for up to 5 hours in tablet and up to 10 hours in Ultrabook mode.

It is obvious that Lenovo Thinkpad Helix is a premium device reserved for those with deeper pockets. In the USA, the starting price is set at US $1,499 while in Europe, the cheapest model is currently listed at €1580,90.
