EVGA has finally and officially announced their GTX 1080 Ti Kingpin Edition graphics card revealing the missing details, which weren’t discussed in the countless rumours that preceded the launch. As all the other Kingpin Edition cards before, the 1080 Ti version is also aimed at overclockers and performance enthusiasts.



Already at a first glance the EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Kingpin Edition looks massive and powerful. The cooler they’re using is an improved version of their FTW3 module which can be found on several EVGA graphics cards. The card features a dual slot heatsink and a dense aluminum fin stack that has been combined with three fans. The entire cooler has been kept in black and there is a solid backplate presenting the EVGA logo and K|NGP|N's signature.

Apparently the card is supposed to deliver excellent performance. While the GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition works at 1480MHz/1582MHz Core/Boost frequencies, the EVGA GTX 1080 Ti Kingpin Edition works at 1582MHz/1695MHz Core/Boost frequencies. According to EVGA, the is guaranteed to overclock itself to 2025MHz while playing games or benchmarking right out of the box. Unlike the MSI GTX 1080 Ti Lightning Z or the GALAX GTX 1080 Ti HoF graphics, this card “only” features two 8-pin power connectors. Regarding connectors we find a layout that deviates from the standard, while three mini-DisplayPorts 1.3 connectors, one HDMI 2.0b and one dual-link DVI port have been implemented. Since all these ports are in one line, it's possible to remove the bracket and create a single slot graphics card with the right water block.
