Although we have already mentioned that NVIDIA might release the upcoming GeForce GTX 1080 Ti quite soon, new information has surfaced on io-tech. According to the latest rumors, NVIDIA could do a paper lunch already during the Game Developers' Conference (GDC), which is scheduled for February 28.
NVIDIA will be hosting a "GTX Gaming Celebration" event on February 28th, an event where more information on the upcoming GTX 1080 Ti will be shared. This launch might be very similar to NVIDIA's GTX 1080 launch, where we have first seen the price of the GPU and at a later stage reviews and pre-orders. At the moment io-tech suggests that the release date might be between March 20 and 23, one month before AMD's upcoming Vega series of GPUs are expected.
At the moment the full specifications of Nvidia's GTX 1080 Ti are unknown. Keeping in mind that the upcoming GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is supposed to feature 3328 shader processors, which is a little less than what you get with the Titan X Pascal it would make sense if the price was also a bit more affordable. Apart from that it is rumored that the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti comes with 15xxMHz/16xxMHz Core/Boost clocks, while the Titan X Pascal works at 1417MHz/1531MHz Core/Boost frequencies. The TDP of the new Ti-card might should be around 250W.
At the moment the GeForce GTX 1080 can be found on Geizhals for 700 Euro, while a Titan X Pascal is available on NVIDIA’s official store for 1379 Euro. According to latest rumors, the new NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti should sit right between these two models.
