Another set of benchmarks on AMD’s Ryzen CPUs has hit the surface. This time it looks like the octa-core AMD 7 1700X has been tested. According to the latest rumors, this model should features 8 core, 16 thread and a TDP of 95W. The Ryzen 7 1700X should belong to the "Black Edition" series with a street price of $389 US.
The new results have been gathered using Cinebench R15, 3DMark Fire Strike and CPUmark. This time there are also details on the memory used as well as CPU frequency, while XFastest has run the memory at 2133MHz and the CPU at 3.5GHz.
According to these new results, the AMD 7 1700X at stock clocks is almost on par with the Intel’s Core i7-6900K and Core i7-5960X. In other words these new tests confirm previous rumors. A closer look at the results gathered with Cinebench R15 reveals that the system with AMD 7 1700X scores 1537 points, while the setup with Intel Core i7-6900K score 1559 Points.
If you want to dive even deeper to draw more comparisons, we recommend you our CPU charts. There you also find results, which we've gathered with Cinebench R15 and on top of that we've run separate tests with all the chips set to 4.2 GHz and another set with the memory set to 3000 MHz.
Meanwhile we can't wait anymore to test the new AMD CPUs ourselves. We're especially curious to find out more about its IPC performance, which will become visiblen in our charts when looking at the results gathered with the CPUs set to 4.2 GHz.
