ASUS has unveiled a new Geforce GTX 950 series graphics card, the TUF Echelon GTX 950 Limited Edition which will feature ASUS' own DirectCU II cooler with arctic camouflage on both the front shroud and the backplate as well as a decent factory-overclock.
Aimed mostly at mid-range market, the new ASUS TUF Echelon GTX 950 is probably the best GTX 950 ASUS will ever release. Featuring a custom design with ASUS' own DirectCU II cooler with two dual-ball-bearing fans, which should both keep the new card up to 20 percent cooler and three times quieter as well as give it a 4x-longer lifespan compared to reference graphics card.
The new ASUS TUF Echelon GTX 950 Limited Edition is also made with ASUS' Auto-Extreme production technology, which, together with TUF components and server-grade testing, should ensure best possible stability and reliability.
Specification wise, the TUF Echelon GTX 950 has two modes, the default Gaming mode with clocks set at 1140MHz for base GPU and 1329MHz for GPU Boost, as well as the OC Mode, which pushes the GPU to 1165MHz base and 1355MHz GPU Boost.
It also packs 768 CUDA cores, 2GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 6610MHz on both modes and a 128-bit memory interface. The card has standard two DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs and a TDP of 150W so it needs a single 6-pin PCI-Express power connector.
Unfortunately, ASUS did not reveal any details regarding the price or the availability date, but a quick check at our favorite price search engine shows it listed for around €185 in Europe.
