Samsung officially releases new Portable SSD T3

Coming with a USB 3.1 Type-C port

Announced earlier at CES 2016 in January, Samsung has now officially launched its new Portable SSD T3 that will be based on V-NAND flash, feature USB Type-C interface and be available in capacities of up 2TB.

While all previous Samsung Portable SSD drives were available in capacities of up to 1TB, the new Samsung Portable SSD T3 will be reaching 2TB, mostly thanks to the new 48-layer 3D V-NAND flash technology. Another novelty is the new USB 3.1 Type-C interface.

The dimensions of the Samsung Portable SSD T3 are set at 74x58x10.5mm and it weighs just 51g. It offers transfer speed of up to 450MB/s. It also comes with AES-256-bit hardware encryption and an optional password settings for security.

The Samsung Portable SSD T3 is backed by a 3-year warranty and should be available soon in the United States, China, Korea and select European countries with a price set at US $130 for the 256GB version, US $220 for the 500 GB, US $430 for the 1TB and US $850 for the flagship 2 TB version.
