ASUS has unveiled its newest gaming-grade E3 Pro Gaming V5 motherboard based on Intel's C232 Express chipset and all the ASUS exclusive gaming features. Featuring support for Intel's Xeon E3-1200 v5 CPUs or standard 6th generation Core Skylake LGA 1151 CPUs, the new ATX motherboard brings server class CPU support to the gaming community.
According to ASUS, Intel's C232 Express chipset should provide gamers better price/performance and provide gamers a choice to go for Intel's server-grade Xeon E3-1200 v5 line of CPUs but also have all the usual gaming-oriented features.
Specification-wise, the new ASUS E3 Pro Gaming V5 motherboard is based on a standard ATX form-factor and has support for Intel's LGA 1151 socket Xeon E3-1200 v5 CPUs or Intel's 6th generation LGA 1151 Skylake Core, Pentium or Celeron CPUs as well as support for up to 64GB of DDR4-2133 memory in dual-channel. It also comes with two PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slot (x16/x4), two PCI-Express 3.0 x1 slot and two standard PCI slots, single M.2 slot, six SATA 6Gbps ports, single USB 3.1 Type-C port and plenty of USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, Gigabit LAN from Intel I219LM controller and ASUS SupremeFX 7.1-channel audio.
As noted, the new ASUS E3 Pro Gaming V5 also comes with plenty of ASUS exclusive features including ASUS Ai Charger+, ASUS Fan Xpert 3, ASUS EZ DIY, ASUS Q-Design, Media Streamer, RAMCache, LANGuard and GameFirst and aforementioned ASUS SupremeFX audio.
The new ASUS E3 Pro Gaming V5 should be available soon with a price of around US $175. The motherboard is already listed around Europe with a price of just under €150.
