It appears that Google has decided to silently discontinue the Motorola-made Nexus 6 smartphone which can no longer be found at Google's Play Store.
Launched back at the end of 2014, the Motorola-made Nexus 6 was not a big hit due both to its size and the price. According to the latest report, it appears that Google has finally gave up on it, leaving on LG-made Nexus 5X and Huawei-made Nexus 6P at its Google Play Store. The Nexus 6 can be found available at certain retail/e-tail shops but we guess it will be gone once the stock runs out.
The Nexus 6 was Google's move to higher-end smartphone market, and while earlier Nexus devices usually offered the best bang for buck, Nexus 6 was more of a high-end device with its 5.96-inch screen and faster SoC, suggesting that Android smartphones should move to larger screens.
Currently selling for just north of €350 and US $350 for the 32GB version, depending on the region, the Nexus 6 still offers a decent smartphone experience with its 5.96-inch 2560x1440 AMOLED screen, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 805 SoC with Adreno 420 GPU and 3GB of RAM.
The new Google Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P are great smartphones but the value is far from earlier Nexus devices.
