Patriot has announced its newest line of solid state drives, the Patriot Blast SSD, which combines TLC NAND with Phison S10 controller.
To be available in 120GB, 240GB, 480GB and 960GB capacities, the Patriot Blast SSD series is based on a standard 2.5-inch 7mm-thick form-factor with SATA 6.0 Gbps interface.
Based on a combination of a quad-core, 8-channel Phison S10 controller and TLC NAND memory, the Patriot Blast will offer sequential transfer performance of up to 560MB/s for read and 540MB/s for write, on 480GB and 960GB models. The 120GB model will have a slightly lower 560/425 MB/s read/write performance, while the 240GB model has 560/530 MB/s performance.
According to Patriot, the new Blast SSD series offers TRIM and SMART support as well as a built-in ECC function.
The new Blast SSD series will be backed by a three-year warranty and should be available by the end of this month with a price set at US $40 for the 120GB model, US $73 for the 240GB model, US $144 for the 480GB model and US $266 for the 960GB model.
