While we have earlier seen some details regarding the upcoming Broadwell-E CPUs, including the flagship Core i7-6950X CPU with 10 cores, it appears that the Broadwell-EP based Xeon E5-2600 v4 CPU will be even more impressive with 22 CPU cores and 44 threads, per socket.
According to a new report from Wccftech.com, the upcoming Broadwell-EP update will be available in Q1 2016 and the new Xeon E5-2600 v4 CPU will pack up to 22 CPU cores and 44 threads, thanks to Intel's HyperThreading support. The rest of the specifications include up to 55MB of L3 cache, support for DDR4 memory and a 145W TDP.
Accordng to the report, over the next few years, Skylake-EP nd Skylake-EX processors should take over, with Xeon CPUs features up to 56 and 64 threads.
In 2018, Intel is expected to unveil the new Cannonlake-EP and Cannonlake-EX CPUs, using the 10nm manufacturing process and the new Socket P platform. Cannonlake-lineup will feature 68 and more threads and pack between 80-85MB of L3 cache.
