AMD's Phil Rogers goes to Nvidia

Jumps ship

While it is not uncommon that a long time employee leaves a certain company but it is a completely different story when he or she goes to a competing company, exactly what happened when Phil Rogers went from AMD to Nvidia.

While Phil Rogers worked for AMD for over 21 year and even was made a Corporate Fellow back in 2007, which made him the highest ranking member of its technical team. Phil Rogers was quite important in development of the software behind AMD's hardware as well as the key man when it comes to presenting new products and technologies to the public and the members of the press.

He was also one of the key guys behind Heterogeneous System Architecture (HSA) project.

Earlier this year, AMD lost a key CPU architect, Jim Keller, which left the company after completing work on AMD's upcoming Zen CPU architecture.

It is still not clear which role will Phil Rogers take at Nvidia but we will surely keep an eye on further information.
