During last Saturday, we had a chance to check out the overclocking show featuring MSI's Z170A XPower Titanium motherboard in the hands of the famous Italian overclocker Pixy. All of the tests were performed with LN2 during an event held in the Abaco Shop.

During last week, Pixy binned a couple of CPUs in order to find the best model for the de-lidding process. The practice of de-lidding is necessary and mandatory for extreme overclocking because it ensures the highest possible overclocking frequency and more consistent temperatures under LN2 cooling.

During the event, Pixy has achieved good scores in both Cinebench and wPrime benchmarks. Pushing the CPU up to 6.12 GHz at 1.7V managed to get him close to the top ten score. The complete platform uses an MSI Z170A XPower Titanium motherboard paired up with a retail Core i7-6700K CPU and 2x4GB of Kingston HyperX Predator 3200MHz CL15 memory pushed to 3200MHz at CL13. The system also included an Nvidia GTX 980 Ti reference and a well known Seasonic X-1250 PSU for power.
