ASUS ships 4.3 million notebooks in Q2 2015

Expect it to go back to 4.8 million

ASUS has shipped around 4.3 million notebooks in the second quarter of this year, which is actually down from previous quarters.

Although ASUS shipments in notebook market were down to 4.3 million in the second quarter of this year, compared to 4.8 million in the first quarter and 4.6 million during the second quarter last year, these were still up compared to the company's desktop shipments, which were a 500,000 units, or 100,000 units lower compared to the previous quarter.

While these were down, ASUS has recently launched its new ultra-thin high-end ZenBooks and new T100 series notebooks which should bring its notebook shipments up to 4.8 million during the next quarter. ASUS also expects its desktop shipments to increase to 600,000 units.

Currently, ASUS' ZenBook line and gaming notebooks are actually 20 percent of the company's revenue and that is where ASUS will focus its attention. ASUS' tablet shipments have been down as well but should be in line with ASUS' expectations for the whole year.

A big focus for the company is its Republic of Gamers brand which has recently extended and now includes motherboards, graphics cards, notebooks, desktops, monitors and peripherals.

This was a hard quarter for most companies and hopefully things will get better in the second half of the year.
