Intel updates its IGP drivers for Windows 10 OS

Brings support for DirectX 12 and more

In the wake of the Windows 10 launch, both AMD and Nvidia have updated their graphics card drivers and Intel is not far behind with the new IGP driver.

In addition to the support for Windows 10 OS and DirectX 12, the new IGP driver version 15.40.4.64.4256 also brings support for DirectX 11.3, PlayReady 3 for 1080p playback and Miracast.

It also fixes some problems seen in earlier drivers including "centered" scaling if resolution was set at less than native panel resolution. There are still some known issues with some games and other software but this is as good as it gets in case you are running Windows 10 OS on Intel's IGP.

The new Intel IGP driver supports Intel's 4th generation CPUs with Intel HD graphics s 4200, 4400, 4600, 5000, Intel Iris 5100 and Iris Pro 5200 as well as select Pentium/Celeron CPUs with Intel HD graphics, Intel's 5th generation CPUs with Intel HD graphics 5500, 5600, 6000, Iris 6100, Iris Pro 6200 and select Pentium/Celeron CPUs with Intel HD graphics card and Intel's Core M with Intel HD 5300 graphics.
