When the first Witcher game was released Shani was a good friend of Geralt. She was from the city Vizima and took care of the wounded and sick. It now looks like she's going to reappear in the upcomgin expansion pack of the recent The Witcher: Wild Hunt.
It's interesting to see that CD Projekt Red is bringing back old characters, who played an important role in the game. They even go to the point that you see Shani on the advertising for the "Heart of Stone" expansion pack. This presence of an old character might suggest that the developers from Poland are thinking about bringing back more of them in future expansion packs.
In October the first expansion pack for The Witcher: Wild Hunt is going to be launched. "Heart of Stone" will add ten hours of gameplay to the quest line, whereas Geralt will go back to Velen. At a later stage "Blood and Wine", the second expansion pack, is going to be released, which should add another 20 hours of gameplay.
