Starbreeze Studios, a developer behind Payday games, have pulled a rabbit out of their hat at E3 2015 show and unveiled its own virtual reality (VR) headset, known as the Project StarVR.
To be showcased during E3 2015 show running on The Walking Dead FPS game by Overkill Software, the Starbreeze Studios' VR headset, the Project StarVR, is a result of Starbreeze's recent acquire of French VR company, InfinitEye.
The StarVR will feature two 5.5-inch LCD displays with 5120x1440 resolution (2560x1440 pixels per eye), pack 360-degree head-tracking technology, with 130-degree vertical field of view (FOV) and 210-degree horizontal FOV. Bear in mind that this is more than any other VR headset currently announced.
Starbreeze Studios' wants to be the first company that will have both VR hardware and VR software and its engine, Valhalla, will support the Steam OpenVR framework.
Unfortunately, we still do not have precise details regarding availability date or the price of the StarVR VR headset.
