It is that time of the year again guys. Computex is right around the corner and vendors are starting to send out press releases on upcoming products. On of the companies that's always pushing like crazy at Computex is G.Skill and the fact that they're showing a new Ripjaws 4 DDR4-3666 Kit is the best proof for that.
The new Ripjaws 4 DDR4-3666MHz kit consists of four modules with 4 Gigabyte capacity and therefore this is a 16 Gigabyte kit. G.Skill is using Samsung ICs with these modules. Therefore it appears that Samsung chips might be the way to go in future if vendors want to reach ultra high frequencies with DDR4 memory in future.
In order to proof that their new kit can actually perform DDR4-3666 stably G.Skill attached a screenshot where you see twelve simultaneous instances of Memtest open and all were completed with zero errors. G.Skill has conducted testing on a Gigabyte X99-SOC Champion motherboard in combination with an Intel Core i7-5820K CPU. A closer look at the timings reveals that they have been set to 18-18-18-36 2T. Those timings are not what you would call sharp, but considering the very high frequencies this was to be expected.
If you would like to know when these modules are going to hit the market we have to tell you, that we're still in the dark. We're expecting that this kit will show up in shops by the end of next month and apparently there will be insanely expensive.
