Square Enix DirectX 12 demo looks impressive

Took the developer three weeks to make

Microsoft and Square Enix have released the new Final Fantasy 15 DirectX 12 demo which shows the full potential of the upcoming DirectX 12 API and the Square Enix Luminous engine.

We already seen and heard a lot of details regarding the upcoming DirectX 12 API and what it will mean for gaming and it appears that some new teasers show that we are in for some rather impressive looking games, at least judging from the new Square Enix DirectX 12 Demo based on the Luminous engine.

The demo was running on a Digital Storm PC with four Nvidia GTX Titan X graphics cards and took the developer around three weeks to get the basic rendering working, which shows that DirectX 12 will be pretty straight forward for developers. Square Enix also noted that while the API is not that difficult, it will still take some time before they will be able to utilize the 100 percent of the new API.

In any case, the new DirectX 12 demo from Square Enix certainly looks impressive and we can't wait for games to fully support it.
