SanDisk announces Extreme Pro SSD at Computex 2014

With 10 year warranty

SanDisk came to Computex 2014 with a rather interesting new Extreme Pro SSD which will target the enthusiast and professional markets with its promise of consistent performance as well as 10 year warranty.

Most likely based on Marvell's controller paired up with SanDisk's 1Ynm flash memory, or simply 19nm NAND, the new Extreme Pro SSD will be available in 240, 480 and 960GB capacities and offer sequential read and write performance of up to 550MB/s and 520MB/s while random 4K read and write performance will be at up to 100K and 90K IOPS.

The ace in the Sandisk's sleeve for the Exreme Pro SSD is the nCache Pro technology which will focus on consistency of the drive rather than its performance.

According to Sandisk, the new Extreme Pro will be available later this month with a price set at US $189 for the 240GB mode, US $369 for the 480GB one and US $599 for the 960GB version.
