Microsoft launches first Windows Phone 8.1 update

Improves battery life on devices

Microsoft has released the first update for its Windows Phone 8.1 Preview for developers which brings some updates and bug fixes.

The new update, which is 22MB large and available for download via OTA service, does not bring any big changes and mostly fixes bugs caused by the migration to Windows Phone 8.1. The biggest update would probably be the improved battery life.

According to first details, the UI looks identical and it does not bring any new features to the Windows Phone 8.1 Preview. As you probably already know, the Windows Phone 8.1 Preview has been available for quite some time and anyone could install it as long as they register as developers.

The official and final update for the Windows Phone 8.1 is scheduled for June 24th.
