Sound Blaster E1 and E3 USB sound cards

Creative Technology has announce the new series of smaller USB audio solutions for PC and Mac systems as well as smartphones and tablets, the Sound Blaster E series.

Currently available in Sound Blaster E3 and the Sound Blaster E1 models, the Sound Blaster E series is a successor of the popular Sound Blaster X-Fi Go!Pro and uses USB plug-and-play connectivity to provide PC and Mac systems with a powerful USB audio experience with real-time advanced audio processing, according to Creative.

The entire series features high SNR levels and 600 Ohm headphone amplifiers which makes it suitable even for smartphones and tablets while the Sound Blaster E3 can also function as a high performance USB DAC and pair up with smartphones and tablets via Bluetooth. Both the Sound Blaster E3 and the Sound Blaster E1 also feature dual headphone ports for music sharing as well as embedded microphones for voice recording and phone calls.

The Sound Blaster E3 offers 110dB SNR and 600 Ohm headphone amplifier and can act as both a powerful USB DAC and Bluetooth Headphone Amplifier. It also allows users to download Sound Blaster E series control panel software which gives access to full suite of SBX Pro Studio audio enhancements. It also allows users to connect it to smartphones and tablets wirelessly for up to 8 hours of wireless audio playback.

The Sound Blaster E1 is smaller wired USB HD audio and headphone amplifier aimed more for the budget market.. It has a slightly lower 106dB SNR and the same 600 Ohm headphone amplifier and has a 25 hour battery life as well as built-in microphone.

According to Creative, the Sound Blaster E1 should already be available at Creative's own online store as well as other retail/e-tail shops while the Sound Blaster E3 is expected in July 2014. The price tag is set at US $49 for the Sound Blaster E1 and US $129 for the Sound Blaster E3 model.
