The explanation for the delay of the Nvidia GTX Titan Z might have been revealed in the new leaked and early GTX Titan Z review which shows that Nvidia US $2.999 is not much faster, even slower in some tests, compared to the US $1.499 priced dual-GPU AMD Radeon R9 295X2.
The review comes form a Chinese site which shows that GTX Titan Z lead in some test is nowhere close to justify the high price of the GTX Titan Z, at least not 3DMark and gaming scenarios which might be yet another reason for a heavy delay of the dual-GPU beast from Nvidia. In most tests ran by the site, the R9 295X2 and the Titan Z are neck to neck and only thing that Nvidia's GTX Titan Z can brag about is the power consumption of 375W.
The power consumption with a single GTX Titan Z draws 33W less than the same system running on two GTX 780 Ti graphics cards in SLI mode and 60W less than the same system with R9 295X2.
Of course, all of these facts still can't justify the US $2.999 price tag and Nvidia might be redesigning the GTX Titan Z in order to get higher clocks, better driver or anything else that might put it ahead of the Radeon R9 295X2.
